Fans for the Cure (FFTC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works in partnership with the medical, sports and entertainment communities to save men’s lives by promoting the early detection and treatment of prostate cancer and supporting prostate cancer research.
We provide educational seminars, coordinate awareness events and PSA screenings, and offer medical referrals to professional organizations and the general public. We also support prostate cancer research and serve as an advocacy partner for the Metastatic Prostate Cancer Research Project being conducted by the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Our mission is to support men and the families that love them as they navigate through every stage of their health and wellness, particularly as they battle prostate cancer. We are committed to raising awareness around prostate cancer testing and treatment so that we can help the men we love to stay in the game.
We do this in the following ways:
Prostate cancer is the most common non-skin cancer and the second leading cause of cancer deaths among men in the United States. About one in nine men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in his lifetime. FFTC champions early detection as a key line of defense against the disease. We are particularly busy in the summer as we partner with 150+ Minor and Major League Baseball teams to hold awareness events and screenings across the country.
